KoalaPad

Koala Technologies Corp.

The KoalaPad was a popular graphic tablet on the 8 bits computers of the early 1980's (Apple ][, C=64).
The KoalaPad invented by David D. Thornburg.
The KoalaPad was the first touch tablet for computers, and we had a heck of a time convincing potential customers that they could draw pictures on the computer with a pen!
David D. Thornburg, Ph.D.
After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Dr. Thornburg  joined the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center as the 25th employee. From 1971-1981, he worked on a wide variety of projects, including the design of user interface technologies for the first personal computer (the Alto, a 1973 precursor to the Macintosh)
